This 3-trimester series of courses provides collegial opportunities in a small group setting
led by a faculty mentor/advisor. Activities focus on the development of students’ self and self/other
strengths related to professional goals, preparation for practicum, choice examination of educational
and other experiences supporting their strengths and aspirations such as identification of research
interests, practice in collaboration, and completion of the Learning Portfolio due during the last
trimester of Base Year(s).
Full time students meet regularly during their first year and Part-Time students meet regularly during
their second year in Portfolio Seminars with their Faculty Mentor-Advisor to integrate course material
and their own professional development plans and accomplishments into a Learning Portfolio, a
comprehensive profile of relevant learning to date. Students will be grouped in Portfolio Seminars
according to their professional interests in clinical or counselling psychology.
