WHAT IS PSYCHOTHERAPY?

The practice of psychotherapy is the assessment and treatment of cognitive, emotional or behavioural disturbances by psychotherapeutic means, delivered through a therapeutic relationship.

The process of psychotherapy involves engaging the client generally through dialogue and other
techniques, to explore their own abilities to consciously exert a more positive influence in their lives through examination of the past. This approach differs from the more scientific and behavioral approach in Psychology.
